I usually plan an extended visit during March while the wolf study is going on, but this year a family situation made that impossible.
The situation began to mellow by mid-March, so when Becky called with a plan to visit the Park as she and Chloe so often did, I jumped at the chance to accompany her.
For this trip, Becky drove to Bozeman from Missoula by herself. She stayed in my guest room overnight and today we are packing my car for the drive to YNP.
We leave around 2PM. The drive is lovely and the weather cooperates. We check in to the Super 8 and once we are settled we head over to the Rusty Nail to join dear friends for dinner.
There are 6 of us: Bob L, Calvin & Lynette, Kathie L, plus Becky and me. We have a great time, with Bob being particularly chatty.
We turn in fairly early, looking forward to our first day in Yellowstone tomorrow.
Today I saw: bison, mule deer, a bald eagle, elk, and the spirits of Allison, Richard, Jeff and Chloe.
