Over the last year I have spent very little time in the Park outside of the Northern Range. My Bozeman friend Barb is far more familiar with the southern part of the Park, so when I learned she would be making another trip to Hayden before the roads shut down, I decided to join her.

I got reservations for two nights at the Super 8 in Gardiner – at a much higher rate than I’ve ever paid. But I figured it was worth it since I had my own tour guide in Barb.

I felt it would be good for me to explore some different areas for once.
